TT Players Mumbai started this petition to TSTTA

To,

TSTTA (The Suburban Table Tennis Authority)

Mumbai Suburban District

We, the undersigned Suburban players of Mumbai are quite stunned by the notice on 30th October 2020  issued by Hon Gen Secy, Mr. Sameer Bhate of TSTTA (The Suburban Table Tennis Association) which is affiliated to MSTTA (Maharashtra State Table Tennis Association) threatening to ban players who register with non-affiliated clubs/organizations such as TTFSL Association(Table Tennis Friendly Super League Association) or ban any TT player from playing any of the friendly events that TTFSL Association organizes.

Sirs, the TTFSL Association people have been promoting TT by organizing friendly TT events regularly since August 2019 even before their NGO was officially formed. These friendly events do not have any concept of prize money, cup, medals or ranking and there is no referee even. These friendly events give TT players good practice against different opponents at different venues so that our skills can improve. There is no clashing of dates with any State Tournaments organized by TSTTA and these friendly events can serve as good practice for the State and National tournaments.

We personally request you not to punish players for wanting to practice and play friendly events as everyone wants to improve their individual game. As it is, TT has been shut for a period of 7 months due to COVID Pandemic and we would all like to catch up and play our favorite game. We would like to play both the Friendly events and the State Tournaments without any restrictions.

The Friendly Events organized by TTFSL Association provide a great platform of practice matches for all players, young or old, male or female to improve their game so as to perform better at the State Tournaments organized by TSTTA. TTFSL Association is therefore promoting TT and it is beneficial for the TT players all over. Many of us players cannot afford to coach and don't get a chance to play different opponents.

We, therefore, request you to kindly withdraw the notice to ban players as such as it is not fair to punish players for playing friendly matches. Promotion of TT is always welcome no matter where it comes from and no matter who promotes it. Please don't make players choose and divide players. We TT players should always be UNITED.

Further TTFSL Association is a Non-Profit Organisation and gives away all the donations collected to the venues and clubs by way of infrastructure improvement, which directly benefits the game and its players in your jurisdiction as well and it is something that benefits all the clubs/academies affiliated to TSTTA.  The TTFSL Association persons are themselves all regular TT players and they are doing good social work by promoting TT.

Kindly consider our request at the earliest so that we can play TT peacefully.

Yours Sincerely

Suburban Players Registered OR Not Registered with TSTTA
