The current guide (National Occupancy Standard - NOC) is not in line with Tseshaht culture and values and is disrupting Tseshaht families and creating unnecessary stress and hardship for some Tseshaht members.  The NOC standard is not mandatory by CMHC and Tseshaht has the freedom to create our own rules.  The Tseshaht housing department/committee (I am unsure of exactly who is choosing the NOC as the rules Tseshaht has to follow) is currently enforcing NOC in Tseshaht Social Housing units.  

This is an urgent call to Tseshaht leadership to:

1. Immediately stop using the NOC as the  official rule as it is not in policy

2. Cease pending evictions issed that are using NOC, AND

3. create a Tseshaht NOC that is based on the needs of Tseshaht families and rooted with Tseshaht values.
