Maria Markova started this petition to TSCC 2491 Board of Directors

This petition is addressed to the Board of Directors of TORONTO STANDARD CONDOMINIUM CORPORATION NO. 2491 to request a meeting from the unit owners of Pier 27 condominium.
The petition requires 15 percent of voting units' signatures in order to be submitted to the Board of Directors as per the Condominium Act of 1998. Current number of voting units as of 6-Oct-2020 is 409 per Condominium Authority of Ontario. Hence 62 (rounded up) units are required to sign off on this meeting request.

Some of the issues to be addressed at the meeting:

1. New carpet installation - design chosen poorly without consultation of owners or advising that there would be an entirely new design in the first place. Such decisions are concerning since they may lower the overall value of the condominium.

2. No AGM since April 30th 2019.

3. Lack of clear and timely communication from the board/management, especially during emergency situations (e.g. water shut off May 19th through May 21st of 2020). Also, lack of communication when making changes to condominium common areas (see Issue #1).

4. Lack of accessibility infrastructure such as wave detectors for all the doors leading to and from the elevators. During current Covid-19 conditions, adding this hands-free access would reduce the risk to residents' health and safety.

5. The Board would be more efficient and representative of the owner collective with more members on it. Proposing 5 members instead of the current 3.

6. Questionable maintenance practices that do not appear to save on funds. For example, pool cleaning and deck tinting without opening the pool at all during the season, while citing high costs as the reason for keeping it closed.

7. Covid-19 cleaning measures standards not kept up. For instance, hand sanitizer dispensers often left empty and cleaning staff working in common areas without proper PPE (masks).

8. Overall dissatisfaction with the management's conduct in addressing the residents' questions and concerns. We, the owners, feel that much too often the management staff is not meeting the expected standards in targeting our concerns or taking responsibility for the various issues that are brought to the management's attention.

9. Revisiting the point raised from previous discussions regarding the location of garbage and recycling containers. Will the unsightly garbage/recycling outdoor area be moved and if so, when and where?
