Exline and Company is proposing to increase the allowed amount of onsite manufacturing within the Tourist Core Area of South Lake Tahoe. The Proposed Amendment is supported by the environmental community because it requires environmental education be incorporated into the Special Use approval process.  This is unprecedented and was held up as an example of requiring environmental sustainability education be incorporated into future project approval processes.   

Through onsite production, manufacturing and regenerative processes, distribution vehicle miles travelled (VMTs) are dramatically reduced.  In requiring sustainable education into the Special Use approval process the applicant is required to consider their own sustainability measures and how they will convey those measures to the community.  

At the January 26th Governing Board meeting, the proposed amendment was denied due to the Governing Board attendance needed. Please sign this petition to urge TRPA Governing Board members to vote Yes when reconsidering this amendment on February 23rd.
