The underlying apathy which causes such degradation must be stamped out. It is generally commercial exploitation which is a CRIME of society.

further its important to note we can only survive with nature not crossing path with nature .Hills can only grow if there is pristine beauty intact .We have to stop all and any construction activity near these lakes stop cutting any trees look where the water draininge is going in all we cannot just base on a particular model of development .its a fact today big dams are disaster similarly use of too much fertilisers is also disaster .What it means the ideas floated by west which they do not use in there own countries is what is spoiling these ecosystems. We need to study the complete cycle together and understand where r those streams which fed the lakes ,how drainage of houses is affecting the lakes and may be like ranikhet no construction without permission and that too without any devastation of flora and fauna
