Daniel Rodriguez started this petition to Trinity Preparatory School

Trinity Prep says it wants to maintain an all-inclusive “Trinity Family” where all are supported and loved for who they are. In the most fundamental step in accomplishing that pursuit, it can, and it must, include LGBT members and support them and their pursuit for equality and acceptance just the same as the rest of our wonderful traits and goals.

Perhaps the most important first step towards acceptance and inclusion is one that takes only the click of a button to do: Pronouns on Canvas. Once enabled, pronouns like “she/her” or “they/them” will be shown after our names on Canvas. In one click, Trinity can show that its leaders care.

For those of us who wish to express an identity different from our birth sex, it is the most validating thing in the world. Simply being referred to by the correct terms for our identities means everything to us.

In one click, Trinity can make us feel much more accepted! Not only that, but it’s a totally non-partisan and uncontroversial feature that everyone can benefit from! For those of us with nonbinary or trans gender identities, to gender-ambiguous names, and simply for clarity, there is nothing but good that can come out of having our pronouns shown :)
