My Cambridge News used to be delivered by my 15 year old paperboy Lewis. He and his mother came round to my house one afternoon and said he and all the paperboys and girls had been made redundant with no notice or severance pay. My paper is now being delivered by the man who collects the newspapers from the Cambridge News printers and used to deliver them to the paper boys and girls. Lewis and his Mother did my shopping for me during lockdown and we exchanged Christmas cards. I think it is a scandal how he was made redundant and think all the paper boys and girls should be reinstated or given compensation. I think it is a scandal the way they were dismissed. He was just told the paper boys and girls were no longer required. The Trinity Mirror Newspaper group now own the Cambridge News and I have my paper delivered directly from the paper. I think Lewis should have been given a week‘s notice or a week‘s pay.
