Blackheath halls is a very inconvenient place to access for regular rehearsals. Most people that are in this choir live in McMillan student village, and to get to the rehearsals from there costs £10 each night if taking the safe route of the DLR, or £3 with the bus route, which requires hanging around in a very dodgy part of London waiting for your next bus. It also takes a long time to get there, around half and hour with the DLR and 45 minutes with the bus. Tuesdays are often very busy and tiring days for everyone, and having this unnecessary travel time added onto a very late, long rehearsal seems rather inconsiderate. There are many places in trinity laban that should be big enough for our choir, and if not, there must be some places closer to our homes. I hope you can consider that we’re students that don’t want to spend lots of money on public transport each week, and that the situation of wandering around London late in the dark, can trigger anxiety in many people, especially women.
