Trenton (NJ) City Council: Reconsider and repeal ordinance 13-58 which established tax breaks of up to 20 years for businesses
This petition had 95 supporters
The city of Trenton is cash strapped and would greatly benefit from increased tax revenues. However the new ordinance would give an almost obscene 20 year tax break to businesses that successfully apply, leaving remaining businesses and residents a larger burden.
This petition was started to send a message to council to repeal the ordinance before it is too late and businesses can lock into the program. As stated by many sources, the same tax incentives can be created but be smarter and more specific without this ordinance.
