Punish student NW of Treasure Mountain Junior High properly for the crime he committed.

NW (using initials as he is a minor) is currently up against a measly misdemeanor charge for slamming another student (who was completely new to the school) into a trash can and then headfirst onto the floor. There is video of this incident, where you can hear this poor child's head slam into the ground. The kid was begging for NW to stop, saying, "I'm so sorry, bro, please stop. I'm so sorry." NW did not stop until he had to due to being taken away from the situation.
NW said he will not face punishment due to his parents' notoriety - his mother a popular news anchor at KSL, and his father is a local police chief.
A mother of another student at the school said the following:
'The victim confronted the teen about making racial comments about a teacher.
“This new student stood up and said, ‘I’m not comfortable with the way you are talking about this teacher. You need to stop.’ That’s when this other student went off the rails and attacked him,” she said.'
What it comes down to is this:
- This kid is entitled and thinks he has a right to do whatever he wants - including beating others.
- It was an assault and should be prosecuted as such. Anger management classes/community service is NOT enough.
- The school seems to be more intent on punishing other students for circulating to video - "She said those involved in circulating the video are under investigation because the act of furthering disruption using social media is a violation of the safe school’s policy." - than disciplining NW.
Please help me in making sure justice is served. I am thinking of the victim and his parents.
