Busses are the required transportation to prom this year. This petition is to make the transportation optional based on what you would like. Driving separate, Limos, or even Helicopters if you really feel the need. We only get one high school experience, and we should be able to choose our own transportation. There are THOUSANDS of dollars in dresses and suits that shouldn’t have to be crammed into a tight school bus. Paying the busses can still be something everyone does, but I believe making the transportation MANDATORY is unfair to the students attending. There are medical conditions, and some people who just don’t have the attention span to sit through all of prom. I think that if you want to leave early, that should be an option that will be unavailable to us as students without our own transportation means during prom. Some students have curfews where they cannot be out until midnight. The village curfew is before midnight which will leave students to be breaking laws driving home afterwards.
