At Samford University our Office of Admissions is bringing in record numbers of freshmen every year. While this is great for academics, it creates a problem on campus. Samford has continually grown the number of admitted freshmen, but has left the number of student parking spots the same. Due to this, every night on campus, there are students who have no choice but to park in a spot that is not their color zone. The University is aware of this problem and has made no action because of the additional revenue that is being brought in. This is a predatory process and is unfair to students. If a student pays for a parking pass, that student should have access to a parking spot at any time of day. Transportation Services has the power to change this and add parking spots for students living on campus.
