Working, breastfeeding mothers are already facing incredible challenges. Please support them by not only being respectful but encouraging of the need to pump while traveling.

I'm a working mom who travels. Pumping is necessary to keep my milk supply and ensure my baby gets what she needs.

What an outrage!! As an upcoming dad, this is repulsive. If this is how things are currently done, then TSA desperately needs to reform their policies and procedures for practical and sterile handling of pumps and breast milk. If you're going to use testing strips (which I'm all for if they are reliable), then don't dip them in the milk you idiots!!! Instead, squirt a sufficient sample into a sterile dish and soak your strips in that so the remaining milk can remain uncontaminated. Furthermore, fondling and disassembling pumps with your disgusting gloves is unacceptable. Just run them through the x-ray machine in a sterile tote to keep them clean. Obviously, if the woman isn't travelling with a baby, then by all means, do what you will, but if there is no reason to believe anything suspect is going on, then use common sense and DECENCY and take care not to contaminate the baby's food source. What would the FDA have to say about that? >.<

As a mother who's breastfed, our milk is liquid gold! It can be so hard to establish and keep up your milk supply that's crucial to our babies health and sustinence. Traveling makes it much harder. It causes us physical pain to not be able to pump properly on a schedule too. Simply traveling whether for work or on vacation shouldn't cause mothers extra undue stress or deny their baby their food! TSA's handling of nursing mothers, pregnant mothers, breastfeeding supplies, breast milk, small children, etc is absurd and wrong!

I will be a breastfeeding mama and if I ever need to fly I want to be at ease knowing that my choice of any airport won't give me a hard time!

I am an exclusively pumping mother and my pump is my constant companion until my child no longer needs my milk. Pumps are expensive and insurance only covers one. It takes hours each day for me to extract milk for my baby through pumping. Each drop is worth so much. If my pump was broken or contaminated and I could not use it, my discomfort, pain, and milk loss would be devastating. Please let the rules be updated so breastfeeding mothers can still work and travel the way society wants them to without sacrificing their milk

I'm sick of TSA invading the privacy of all travelers for absolutely no discernible security benefit. Hands off breast pumps and breast milk - and everything else we travel with!
