My dog was hit by a Meade County school bus on November 10, 2021. The bus proceeded with its route and did not stop to make sure that my family or our beloved pet were okay. After going to the Board of Education to discuss the matter, they claimed this was all procedure and there was nothing they could do. I would like this petition to help change the procedures they take when things like this happen so that no one has to go through what we’re facing right now. A simple “I’m sorry” would have sufficed, but we didn’t even get that. The speed limit through the area is 45 MPH. This is WAY too high for a residential area like this and if the speed limit had been lower, our baby probably would have made it.
