Hannah Connolly started this petition to Transport Scotland

In 2007, my parents built our family home in the particular location that they had chosen due to a number of reasons but the main one being the privacy that it had to offer. As you can see from the pictures, no one could see into our back garden and we had a lovely outlook. However, over the past almost 2 years, the Maybole bypass has been underway. Throughout this period, all of the greenery which kept our house so private has been ripped out leaving us not only with an eyesore of an outlook in comparison to before but completely exposed to every person and car that walks or drives by. Myself and my family cannot help but feel it is only right that some sort of privacy is returned which should not be at our own expense as had we been aware of the plans to rip out the greenery, we may have reconsidered where to build our home.

Transport Scotland are refusing to build a fence along the back garden due to ‘cost’ however they could stretch to a providing a hedge. A hedge that would be more than likely left to my dad to maintain. As well as this, the ‘cost’ for a fence of which would only be a tiny fraction of the amount being spent on the bypass.

I would be grateful if you could please sign this petition in order as support to pass on to Transport Scotland in the hope that they reconsider their decision.

Thank you in advance!
