TfL: don't make us wait longer for our 100 bus!
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
Transport for London should stick to its word!
Earlier this year (when TfL cut the length of the 100 bus route) it promised that there would be "no changes to the frequency" of the route.
But TfL have just published plans to slash the frequency of the 100 from 4th November, meaning Wapping residents will have to wait up to 50% longer for their bus. TfL is planning to decrease the frequency of the 100 from every 8 minutes to every 12 minutes.
The route is one of only two bus routes in Wapping, cutting it just isn't right. This change shouldn't have been introduced without discussing it with residents first.
The 100 bus link is also a vital connection for disabled people, older people with limited mobility and parents with prams who don't have access to Wapping Station because of its lack of ticket hall to platform accessibility. This move is a retrograde step in supporting people to participate in the community and society. In addition, many will experience disproportionate disadvantage waiting longer for a bus in the cold and wet of winter, so this move could leave people isolated in their own homes.
We call on TfL to scrap this decision and listen to the needs of the local community before making changes to the 100 bus route.
