TFL and RBKC: Make one of your worst road junctions safe for our children to go to school

This morning, I was as usual cycling to school with my seven year old son. We are encouraged to cycle or walk to school to take part in improving air quality and reducing congestion in and around the school.
But this morning my son and I witnessed a horrific cycling accident scene at the junction of Chelsea Bridge and Chelsea Embankment. The cyclist is reported to be in critical condition after a collision with a skip truck that was turning left. The collision occurred on one of the much derided "Cycle Super-Highways", commonly known as "blue paint".
Further down Chelsea Bridge Road, at the crossing with the Royal Hospital road, my son and I experience every morning an even worst crossing, which, unlike the one where the collision occurred this morning, doesn't even have pedestrian lights. Cars and trucks are allowed to turn left and pedestrians and cyclist have to dodge around them even when it is their time to cross.
This crossing is used by parents and their children every morning and is the closest one to my son's school. It is unacceptable, especially in the wake of the horrific accident of this morning, that TFL and RBKC are not improving the design of crossings such as this one (with for instance elevated zebra crossings and proper pedestrian lights). This is a matter of urgency, another accident is waiting to happen.
