The UK is seeing a day-by-day increase of positive cases of coronavirus, with the majority of these localised in the capital. 

Given that the London Underground network is responsible for handling 5 million passenger journeys each day, with up to 2 million users each day, it's clear that enclosed and crowded tube carriages pose an increased risk of viral spread between Londoners, and offer the perfect conditions for incubation and transmission of the infection. 

It is therefore critical that Transport for London take responsibility for keeping passengers as safe as possible by arranging a nightly deep-clean of tube carriages and station surfaces, minimising the potential spread of infection.
