New crossing for Sutton Common Road

I’m very concerned about the safety of pedestrians using the crossing outside Glenthorne school.
There have been several occasions where I could easily have been injured due to cars failing to stop when I was on the crossing. My daughter who is a student at the school has also witnessed several near misses.
Currently there seems to be very little to warn motorists that they are approaching a zebra crossing and a school. There is just one school sign in each direction. One is situated behind a tree and the other is badly damaged.

I would like to see the introduction of a Pelican crossing, tighter speed restrictions especially outside the school and or flashing warning signs, speed cameras and different coloured tarmac.
