Me siento tan consternada ante esta situación, y no puedo creer que después la iglesia se sigue preguntando porque la gente está perdiendo la fe. Bueno, esta es la respuesta, mi familia siempre fue muy católica, yo soy católica pero como confiarle nuestra fe y nuestros pecados a individuos que encubren a monstruos como Maskell, el solo es uno de tantos. Por eso la iglesia comenzó a perder credibilidad incluso desde antes de este caso, la gente se callaba y agachaba la cabeza, por vergüenza tal vez? No lo sé, pero estamos en una época en la que ya nadie calla porque sabes que si no hablas se van a seguir saliendo con la suya. Mucho esta saliendo a la luz en contra de la iglesia y que tristeza además de vergüenza porque como católica como voy a convencer/ convertir a mis hijos al catolicismo cuando sé que está mal, tengo miedo de dejarlos expuestos ante algo así. Se que los tiempos cambiaron pero como inculpar a alguien que está siendo protegido por esta organización con monstruos. Me entristece verdaderamente y me pregunto como Dios permite esto y como estás personas creen que Dios los va a perdonar por solo arrepentirse, si se arrepintieran verdaderamente aceptarían lo que hicieron y pagarían como tal. Además también el gobierno debería estar de nuestro lado pero todos sabemos que todo es por el beneficio del poder.

The Archdiocese is not above the law and it's disgusting that they ENABLED the abuse of hundreds, if not thousands of children by aiding their priest's in getting away with sexual abuse, and murder. Their assistance in getting away with these crimes, and the FACT that they placed these Priest's in positions to work closely with children AFTER they found out the priests were abusive means they are guilty of the same crimes that a PIMP could be charged with, and worse.

I’m from Victoria, Australia where we have had a Royal Commission into abuse by members of the Catholic clergy and seen the level and degree of its cover up by the Catholic Church. Congratulations to all those hard working brave people who came forward and to the women who began the site ‘Justice for Cathy Cesnik’. We must have a worldwide campaign to stop abuse - hold abusers accountable, hold Government at all levels accountable, enable justice irrespective of the amount of time passed between the abuse and its ‘outing’ and to investigate all institutional abuse.

The world is a different place today than it was in '60s and '70s. There is no reason not to have an official police investigation. Truly religious folks do not commit crimes like this. No one should have the arrogance to try to cover these crimes.
