Skytrain Broadway Extension All the Way to UBC

The government and Translink have approved the Broadway Extension Project. There will only be 6 stations and it ends on Arbutus Street. According to the official website, 47% of 99 B-Line passengers end their journey between Main Street and Arbutus, so they will only extend it to Arbutus. On the same website, 43% of them travel all the way to UBC. It seems like the government and Translink forgot about the 43%.

On UBC website, there are 54,236 students and 15,660 faculties and staff work and go to school at UBC in 2016/2017. That is almost 70,000 people. I am sure by the time when the construction is completed, there will be 10,000 more people work and go to school at UBC.

The construction cost will only be more year after year. If they decide to extend it to UBC in the future, it will cost x2 more.

Did you know Canada Line was underbuilt? read this article  Please do not make the same mistake Vancouver and Translink. It is very short-sighted that you are not making it all the way to the biggest university in Western Canada.

As a resident of the city of Vancouver and a UBC graduate, we need the Skytrain extension built all the way to UBC.
