Transition Plan from Fossil Fuels to Renewable Energy options

Every President since Nixon said we need to be independent of foreign oil imports.  All have failed to put in a plan to make it happen.  The US House passed a Clean Energy Bill in July 2009 and one of the 4 elements of the Bill was to Transition to a Clean Energy Economy.  The US Senate failed to enact a plan for a Clean Energy Economy.  Many nations in the world have a plan to phase out fossil fuels and phase in the renewable energy options.  Without a plan, we are left to develop an emergency plan when it is too late.  We have no Energy Policy other than one that has existed for the last 100 years.  Drill, mine, burn and dispose of the toxic waste is the only policy we have.  We need to plan for our future using the clean renewable, sustainable energy options that are viable and economical.

Letter to
U.S. House of Representatives
U.S. Senate
President of the United States
After decades of Environmental disasters like the Dec 2008 TVA Coal Ash disaster spilling 5.4 million cubic yards of hazardous coal ash waste, mountain top removal in West Virginia sending many millions of yards of hazardous waste into the mountains' valleys and streams, the 1989 Valdez oil spill sending 11 million gallons of crude oil into Prince William Sound, the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon 200 million gallons of crude oil catastrophe, the countless mine explosions killing 100s of workers and the global disasters like Chernobyl Nuclear explosion in 1986 and on and on. We need to develop and implement a strategic transition plan to phase out fossil fuels and phase in the Renewable Energy Options like PV Solar Systems and Thermal Solar Collectors, On and off shore Wind Turbines, Residential and Commercial Geothermal systems, Energy Conservation, LEED Buildings, non food based bio-fuels, plug in hybrids and electric vehicles, Public Transit, Water Conservation and Recycling.
