Bring the Mohammadi Family together to grieve

On May 2, the world fell apart for a refugee family in Adelaide who lost two brothers in a head-on collision.

The sole surviving son is in Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre but pleas for him to come to Adelaide for the funeral and grieving period have been refused.

During the holy month of Ramadan, which marks another anniversary of the killing of family members by the Taliban, this is all the more painful for a mother who has raised her family through war, persecution and starting again as a sole parent in Australia.

We’re asking two things:

1) Please sign this petition as a respectful request to Ministers Peter Dutton, Alan Tudge and Jason Wood, who hold responsibility for the immigration portfolio. As this is a difficult time with Covid-19, it’s best that we consolidate our request into a single petition rather than write separately to the Ministers.
