Bring Sale Sharks Home!
This petition is for those who approve the proposed development of Crossford Bridge Community Sports Centre (CBCSC).
Sale town hosted Sale Sharks last professional competitive game in 2003, 17 years later we are discussing their potential return to their home town.
Crossford Bridge Playing Fields (CBPF) currently host three well respected community sports clubs, Sale Harriers (running club), Old Alts FC and Sale United FC (football clubs). Crossford Future (CS) who have put the proposal forward have publicly stated that no club currently using the site will be left with worse facilities than they currently have. As a previous club captain for Sale United & Olds Alts I only see this move as a good one.
During times of uncertainly the opportunities that come hand in hand with a move of this nature will only improve the local economy, bringing unparalleled investment and allowing local businesses to thrive.
Albeit Sale Sharks are no longer officially part of local club Sale FC, founded in 1861 making it one of the oldest rugby clubs in the world. The professional club Sale Sharks have maintained strong relations with their amateur counter part and I for one would like to see The Sharks cemented into the future of my home town.
Sale Sharks currently sit 2nd in the Premiership and are finalist of the Premiership Rugby Cup. The Sharks currently employ some of the best names in the business; from home grown talent and world cup finalist Tom Curry, to world cup winners like Faf De Klerk and Lood De Jager. This really is a change to bring world class sport to our local community.
