Why this petition matters

Started by Ty Jones

This is a petition to have a Skatepark in Sale. I feel over the years with cutbacks to community centres and also technology consuming the younger generation there needs to be more motivation to get the younger generation and also young adults to find excersise more exciting. I personally feel Sale is and has been less inclined to keep up with the times, so to speak. And with crime rates and obesity increasing due to lockdowns, gaming and youngsters listening or watching crime related content. I feel more has to be done to promote different forms of fitness and also help keep people who are of risk of falling into crime engaged with progressive sports. Like skateboarding, BMXing, Scooting, rollerblading etc. Personally skateboarding changed my life for the better it helped put me on the strait and narrow and shed weight that was concerning for doctors. But it was difficult living in Sale and finding this hobby as at the time there was and still is one ramp, litrally 1 ramp and granted it has been improved with a special thank you to the committee of Worthington park. But the problem is there wasn't enough obstacles and is only aimed at more of an old school variation of skateboarding. And mainly just that, I feel an actual Skatepark designed by actual skaters, scooters and BMXers would be more than ideal to keep young people away from crime and keep healthy and also gives people something to spectate whilst walking though or unwinding on a near by bench. Please sign this over many years as a young person and many more people like me made these and they never got looked at. With a time like this it's as easy as pressing your screen a few times.

Many Thanks.
