I am calling upon the Minister for Roads, The Hon. Natalie Ward MLC and the Hon. David Elliot (Member for Baulkham Hills) to commit to, prioritise and fund the addition of traffic lights at the intersection of Cross Street on Old Northern Road. 

In order for the Baulkham Hills community to access the Bus Stop '2153209' at 'Old Northen Rd after Ackling Street' pedestrians are required to cross an extremely busy four-lane main road. This intersection poses a serious risk to both pedestrians and motorists.

Eight years after a fatal accident occurred in which a pedestrian was struck and killed, there have yet to be any visible improvements made to the intersection. 

The Baulkham Hills Community, and in particular residents of Cross Street should not have to risk their lives to make the daily commute to the bus stop. A bus stop that is frequently used by school students, mothers with prams, and the elderly. 

The installation of traffic lights at the intersection of Cross Street on Old Northern Road would not only improve the safety of the road for pedestrians, but also for motorists, who experience dangers in making a safe right hand turn onto Old Northern Road towards Castle Hill. 

Residents need traffic lights to ensure a safe crossing to the bus stop and access to wherever their destination may be (school, work or the local shops).
