Improve Crosswalks on Main Street in Falmouth MA
This petition had 30 supporters
Have you, like myself, witnessed motorists driving through crosswalks on Main Street, Falmouth when pedestrians are crossing? If you want Falmouth to improve safety for everyone using Main Street, join this petition to the town’s Traffic Advisory Committee (TAC).
This March I appeared before the TAC to request improvements. These could take any of the following possible forms: installation of street signage (i.e. pedestrian yield signs), altered crosswalk surface material, elevation of crosswalk, improved street lighting, flashing lights, re-design of adjacent parking spaces adjacent to increase pedestrian visibility to oncoming cars, and barrel-mounted signage in the crosswalk. The area in question runs from the Main Post Office to Gifford Street, an area dense with stores, parking, and crosswalks.
The TAC postponed final deliberation until its April 17, 2017 meeting. If you want to make Falmouth’s Main Street safer, please support this petition. I will present it to the TAC, which will make a recommendation to the Town Manager.
