A Bride and Groom returned home from their wedding reception to the shock that their Toyota Camry had been stolen from the driveway of their home, only to learn that Toyota Financial Services had repossessed the car without any notice – even though all payments for the vehicle had been paid in full and never once missed!

Toyota, a global corporate power with HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS in annual revenue, refuses to return the car to the newlywed young professionals, their only means of transportation.

The couple is completing the lease on their second new Toyota, while their immediate family has purchased more than 8 new Toyotas. When they bring their Toyota for service the dealership jokes that they are “the Toyota family.”

Their prize for brand loyalty? An outrageous example of corporate abuse and a bad faith action on the part of Toyota.

A few weeks ago, the couple decided to extend the lease on their Toyota by 6 months and have been waiting to receive the contract. In the meantime, they continued to make all timely payments on the account.

Instead of sending the contract, Toyota towed the vehicle without notice to an impound lot 60 miles away. Toyota is demanding $500 for the unethical repossession as well as full-buyout for the leased vehicle from Toyota, amounting to more than $15,000.

In short, if the couple does not purchase the vehicle from the same Toyota Financial Services, Toyota is threatening to auction the vehicle and hit the newlyweds with thousands of dollars in fines. This practice is widely considered “EXTORTION.”

The newlyweds are now continuing to deal with the fallout of Toyota’s violation of their rights, loss of car payment, and damages due to time away from work, fees for car rental and other related expenses to recover personal property. They are also grappling with the humiliation of their car being towed from their driveway.

You can act TODAY to demand an end to these corporate abuses in the United States! Demand that Toyota ends its abuse of this middle class, law-abiding American family who has been faithful consumers of Toyota for years.
