Soti Anesto started this petition to Toyota Gazoo Racing and

The A60 Toyota Celica/Celicasupra.

Owned by dedicated people all over the world, wanting to save these magnificent creations, let down by the lack of parts. Decades of rain, snow, wind and sun have proven too much for the parts that make up the A60 chassis.

Exterior seals that have perished causing swimming pools in the spare wheel well and swamps at our feet. Poor rustproofing that has caused the hatch to rust from the inside out, the spare wheel well also due to the above mentioned point, the fuel tank to rust too. Plastics that have degraded and turned into essentially dust the moment you touch them.

There are some small parts that have been produced. But lots that can’t be be cost effectively done on a ‘small’ scale. Major parts, like the fuel tank, quarter panels, floor pans.

For these pieces of art, parts need to be accessible, just like they are for the A70 and a80 supra. The A60 set the footing for the A70, and the A80, it’s only fair the name lives on with Toyota Heritage parts.

Without parts, more and more A60’s will end up in the scrap yard, until there are none left on the road, with only a handful locked up in garages and museums destined to never see the road again. It sounds bleek, because it is. Toyota should be backing enthusiasts so the great A60 can live on for decades to come.

The one thing that always springs to mind, for me here in Australia, is seeing an old xr/xt/xw/xy falcon (or one of any other countless classics) on the road still today, in pristine condition, where the aftermarket, or the oem has been reproducing parts to keep these gems on the road. It's almost easy to rebuild an old falcon, flick through a catalogue, order it slap it together. Of course it's harder than that in reality, but basically everything has been reproduced.

I see them (classics) cruising along and I think man that's cool. I see young kids gawking and pointing, smiling ear to ear.

I want to be able to do that with my MA61 celicasupra, but I can't without help from Toyota.

There are many others that feel the same, as proven by this petition, will you Toyota, save the A60 chassis from extinction?
