Community Against High-Density development in Mundingburra at 82 – 88 Ross River Rd & Water Street, 2020.

We wish to express our concerns over the scale of the proposed 3200 square meter development on Ross River Rd, Mundingburra. Any proposed development should be done in a thoughtful, responsible and transparent way, particularly a development on a main heavily travelled and already congested road such as Ross River Rd. This petition is the community of Mundingburra against the proposed High-density development in this position. The proposed 2 storey 18-unit complex will dominate the neighbourhood. This complex contains 2 x 4 bedrooms and 16 x 2-bedroom units. We believe there are potential significant problems with the proposed development including: -

1. Affecting neighbour’s privacy,

2. High-density population numbers in a Council Low Density Zoned area

3. Adverse effect on property values,

4. Road congestion and traffic flow,

5. Insufficient allocated parking,

6. If not managed correctly, risks creating more social problems in the surrounding areas and potentially escalating crime.

We would also like to express our concerns over the State Government’s lack of consultation with the community for this proposed development. As a community, we want to let the State Government know that a more suitable location for this development needs to be found, and have appropriate consultation with the community and local Council.
