Maxwell Adam started this petition to Town of Tillsonburg and

In 2000-01, the Town of Tillsonburg and the Tillsonburg Minor Soccer Club (TMSC) reached an agreement to build a beautiful/legacy soccer park after 100,000s of dollars was fundraised.  For most of its history the TMSC board of directors represented the interests of both rep/competitive and house league recreational opportunities.  In 2018, however, the representation from the rep/competitive side of things was ousted by TMSC over a disagreement of a small increase to player registration fees, which would have affiliated our club with provincial and national governing bodies (Ontario Soccer; and Canadian Soccer Association).  Because of the break-up, a brand new organization--Tillsonburg FC--had to be created just so that rep/competitive players could continue to play in their various leagues.  Tillsonburg FC was viewed by TMSC as a tenant rather than a partner from thereon, and this was the beginning of a 'rocky' relationship, which has further eroded to something beyond repair. In August 2020 individuals from TMSC called the police on a group of teenagers/adults--associated with Tillsonburg FC--for entering the soccer park, which doubles as a town park.  In previous weeks groups of people who were playing "pick-up" soccer were also told by individual members of the board to leave.  TMSC does not own the land, but the Town of Tillsonburg does.  Please show your support for Tillsonburg FC by signing this petition.

*Please note: Although support for the cause is appreciated, it would be preferred that people who sign the petition are at least one of the following: (1) current/former Tillsonburg town residents; (2) our families and friends and/or other soccer supporters from the surrounding area (Counties of Oxford, Elgin, or Norfolk); (3) members/supporters of our affiliations / networks (TMSC, Ontario Soccer, WOSL, and so on); and/or (4) other local people in general amongst the sporting community.
