Michael Mansson started this petition to Town of Surfside Beach Residents and Property Owners

Have your voice and stance be heard. The rezoning of properties 45915010046 and 45915010048 failed to receive the required votes on April 28, 2020 to rezone from a C1 district to a PD Planned Development to accommodate the development of a new self storage facility along Hwy 17. The voices of many Surfside Beach property owners were heard as they opposed this development. The developers and applicant have continued to try to fight this failed rezoning first by an attempt to revert the failed vote and hold a new vote on the May 12, 2020 Town Council meeting in which the Mayor removed the item from the agenda as the request was not in conformance with parliamentary processes and now the Planning Commission is trying to have the parking requirements that are established within the Town Ordinances reduced so a storage development can be approved and passed through without variances associated with its zoning (easing the restrictions associated with self strorage).

Should the Town of Surfside Beach reduce its current parking counts to accommodate the development of more self storage within Surfside Beach? Surfside Beach already has ample self storage as the market is already drastically oversupplied not just in Surfside Beach but in the adjacent Horry County areas as well.

Let the Surfside Beach Planning Commission hear and see your voice. By signing this petition you are providing a name and voicing that you do not want to have Surfside Beach change its parking requirements to ease the restrictions associated with developing even more self storage in Surfside Beach!
