Rebecca Organ (Taylor) started this petition to Town of Oakville - Ward 6

Last week the Town of Oakville implemented a "Pilot" project to divide the Glenashton Leash Free Dog park into 2 zones.  This was brought about after a group of afternoon dog owners created a petition.

The former petition to subdivide the dog park to accommodate aggressive, problem dogs had a MISLEADING preamble because it began with the question: "Has your dog ever been attacked in this dog park? If so, we have the solution for you."  Many people signed the petition without understanding that the petition went on to recommend that a separate space should be created for a small number of aggressive dogs that frequent the park only in the late afternoon. Aggressive, problem dogs that cannot be controlled by their owners, should be banned from the park, rather than have the dog park subdivided to accommodate them. Subdividing the dog park to accommodate aggressive dogs violates the rules established by the Town of Oakville for all leash frees. However, this is exactly why the Glenashton Leash Free was subdivided with fencing: Simply to accommodate a small number of aggressive dogs owned by a handful of people. It is just that simple and wrong. The Town has been duped.

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION IN SUPPORT OF HAVING THE GLENASHTON DOG PARK DIVIDED FENCE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY.

Thanks for your listening and your support.
