We need more traffic lights at Milliken highway intersections!

In the past few years that I’ve lived in Milliken, I’ve noticed that some of the most common areas for traffic collisions are between the intersections of Highway 60 and Highway 19, Highway 19 and County Road 46 1/2, and then again at the turn out of the 257 Countryside Liquors in Johnstown. As a community, one of the best things we can do to keep our citizens safe is acknowledge potential dangers, and dangers we already know to be a threat, and work together to fix them. As we all know, with the growing of the town, certain areas have become much more high traffic than they have ever been, and they will only continue to grow. And in these specific areas, there are times of the day where the sun is perfectly angled into the eyes of the drivers, making oncoming traffic difficult to see, and sometimes even just a reflection. One of the most responsible things the towns could do right now is build two new stoplights between the two intersections of Highway 60 and Highway 19, Highway 19 and County Road 46 1/2, and to add a double, no passing yellow line at the 257 Countryside Liquors turnout. As upsetting as it is, we can’t change what has already happened, but we can however, preemptively act to make certain accidents like this never happen again.
