A major road in the town of Kings Park, New York has a name that boasts the brutal history of stealing land from indigenous peoples and boasting their decapitated heads as trophies. We should not celebrate that history and instead honor the lands we occupy. Kings Park is on Nissequogue territory and so a name honoring those peoples or an important figure would be more apt.
