We the community and people of Kindersley, Saskatchewan oppose the removal of Kinsmen Park and all the amenities including the outdoor rink. We oppose the outdoor rink being relocated. We oppose the municipal land reserve being leased to West Central Abilities organization for a facility and housing at this location.
This park and amenities and outdoor rink are a part of the heart and core of the west side of Kindersley. This area is already high traffic with all of the children who attend Westberry School and the people who attend the churches. There is a limited amount of green space and parks for children and families on the west side of town and as a community we do not want Kinsmen Park to be removed or relocated. As a community we would like to repair and upgrade the park and maintain it with volunteering and fundraising. The Kinsmen Park is in a suitable location. Construction or a new development would not be suitable for the location that the town council has passed a resolution to approve. We as a community do not approve.
The community does not oppose a contract or lease with West Central Abilities Inc. but rather the location the town council has resolved to approve.
