Georgetown parking by laws need to be changed. They consider the bottom portion below the sidewalk, the “boulevard” as they call it to be an infringement to the parking by-laws. Regardless of tires or vehicle hanging over the sidewalk or edge of the road. The issue with this is most of the houses garages and or driveways are not considerably large enough to fit the amount of vehicles the households have. The bigger issues is that this only affects the houses with the sidewalk cutting through the driveways, houses with no sidewalks are not affected by the by-law. Georgetown does not have a form of public transit like other towns/cities do, therefore people are essentially required to own a vehicle for transportation. This by-law will affect a large portion of Georgetown residents and it needs to be changed.
