The North Gwillimbury Forest is one of the ten largest forests in the Lake Simcoe watershed. It is important habitat for wildlife, helps to protect the lake by cleaning and storing water, and provides a place where people can go to relax and enjoy nature. This is no place for a subdivision. It is time for the Town of Georgina to respect the ecological protection rules in the new York Region Official Plan and pass an Interim Control Bylaw to prevent development in significant wetland and forest areas. You can get more information at SaveNGForest.org.

I believe Georgina Council must pass an Interim Control Bylaw to protect the North Gwillimbury Forest. This is no place for a subdivision. We urgently require action to protect our few remaining forests and wetlands in the Lake Simcoe watershed for the health of the lake, our community and our future. I am signing this petition on my own behalf and confirm that I am not signing on behalf of any other person.
