Jenn Aan started this petition to Town of Fuquay-Varina

Our residential community (Woodchase) has a publicly maintained street, Holly Briar Dr. It is used as a short cut between Stewart St and James Slaughter Rd. The speed limit is 25, like all residential streets.

In the 11 years I have lived on this street, the traffic has increased significantly with the growth of our town. What we deal with now, on a daily basis, is this street being treated like a portion of the Autobahn. We have spoken to the town, we have spoken to the police department, we have requested better signage, stronger enforcement, and speed bumps. Speed bumps were denied. Signage never materialized, better street lighting was also denied, and the police presence was temporary.

Since then, our troubles have only increased, there have been several hit and run incidents involving animals (the most recent of which has left one resident with a $7000.00 vet bill, and a potentially disabled pet) Cars have been hit, some even totaled. We had a car speed down the street, and try to pass a vehicle ahead of them, without realizing there was a car coming from the other direction, they careened onto my driveway, to avoid collision, and narrowly missed hitting a member of my household.

Please sign our petition, we want the Town to do something BEFORE something else happens.
