As cohabiters of this beautiful island, it's our job to take care of each other. That includes the birds and the bees and the turtles.

I’m signing because scientific evidence supports that it is a better flood management strategy to allow greater green space for water to spread out and slowly percolate into the ground. Also allows for cleaner water too!

I and my family frequent visitors to Carolina Beach for birding, and we are appalled to see so much rampant “development” (a euphemism for destruction.) Please make a concerted effort to provide habitat and open space for all the nonhuman residents and visitors—such as migrating and native birds. The community can only thrive when nature is given its due.

Wetlands are crucial for storm water management and habitat restoration. With many species in decline due to urban sprawl, we must conserve what we are able to. Making good habitat and wetland habitat is crucial to wildlife and the preservation of natural heritage of Carolina Beach.
