Valleywood: Save Our Margaret Dunn Library
This petition had 178 supporters
Our libraries are not only great sources of local knowledge but often part of the backbone of our neighborhood. Margaret Dunn Public Library has been open for 19 years and has become a staple within our community.
It is the only building/facility we have within the Valleywood area that brings people together. The library and its staff provide a comfortable and safe place to study, read, learn new things and socialize.
Residents may not have access to books, the internet and social clubs without this much-needed resource. This Library is well supported by our residents young and old alike.
My family and I use the library service on a weekly basis for entertainment as well as in the pursuit of knowledge. The librarians work tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the library. Under proposed cuts announced means our library will become staffless, smaller and perhaps even close down.
Therefore, we strongly urge Town of Caledon, City Councillors and Valleywood residents to find a way of retaining our library as part of a multi-use facility, a community hub fit for all.
Please sign this petition to save Margaret Dunn library otherwise existing users will be possibly forced to travel to our neighboring Caledon libraries.
