Olivia Gerber-Biggs started this petition to Toronto Transit Commission

If the TTC changed their transit schedule so that more buses and streetcars would run in the morning and after 3:30 P.M., more students would take the TTC over using cars. This will result in less exhaust emissions (CO2) being released into the atmosphere, which will help stunt the climate change crisis our planet is facing. We are some of the many students that use public transit everyday to get to and from school. We experience very crowded and uncomfortable buses that do not come often. Because of this a lot of students make their parents give them rides or take ubers and taxis instead of using the transit system. Especially during summer and winter, people don't like standing outside in scorching hot or freezing cold weather waiting for the bus or streetcar to arrive. If the TTC schedule is changed to fit the needs of the thousands of youth passengers, less people will feel inclined to use cars over using transit. Not only would this change benefit TTC takers but also the whole global population. In time less people taking cars on a frequent basis will help contribute to a solution for global warming in climate change. When CO2 is released into the air it creates a heating blanket for our earth, which is terrifying for the human race, it traps heat in our atmosphere warming up our seas and oceans, melting polar caps, and affecting the whole world in a negative way. This is why we need your help and signature to make a big change for the better.
