Hello,

The Lakeshore Village Business Improvement Area is petitioning the support of the Business Community and community at large in Lakeshore Village for two CCTV cameras.  A recent spate of violence and vandalism on Lake Shore Blvd has prompted this action, which the Toronto Police needs to make the business case for CCTV camera placement.

The BIA wants to place the cameras at the two busiest intersections of Lake Shore Blvd. W. The first one being, First St. and Lake Shore Blvd. W.  and the second at Seventh St. and Lake Shore Blvd W.

These cameras along with recording any criminal activity also act as a deterrent to these actions and will protect the small businesses already impacted greatly by COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions many of whom are closed or have reduced hours.  The community must also feel safe to shop and support these businesses specifically in the evenings.  

Consider signing our petition because without the business and community support for these cameras, the Toronto Police cannot install them.  Please support keeping our small community safe and bring peace of mind to the business owners, staff and their customers.
