Petitioning Toronto District School Board

DO NOT allow the sex industry to recruit girls from school

On July 4, the Canadian federal government announced a ban on foreign strippers entering the country to work. This was a great first step in the fight to end sex trafficking! BUT...now, the strip clubs in Toronto (known to be associated with organized crime) are planning to participate in school job fairs to recruit young women in desperate need of tuition money. Is this a message you want your daughters to receive? That selling their body is no different than selling real estate? Are we really going to sit back and allow the sex industry to prey on our youth...in our own schools?! The sex industry - in ALL it's forms - is an abusive industry that exploits women. It is dependent on the abuse and damage of others. Please sign this petition and let the Toronto District School Board know that "sex work" is NOT just another 'choice' for our girls. We need an education...not a stripper pole.
