Skateboarding is amazing and the thrill and accomplishment is unlike any sport. Skateboarding brings people together and helps people bond while also being great exercise. When the skatepark was taking away years ago it personally hurt me and made me not feel as motivated to do anything. I see kids skating the side walks that want to learn tricks but have nothing to skate on or other skaters around them to show them things. Desoto skatepark was the absolute best thing about my childhood and if any of these kids can have that feeling then it's worth me fighting to get another one made. There are so many basketball courts already and the tennis court that is there literally does not get used so in my opinion it's a waste of space. Please help!!! I want to be able to go down and do some tricks while showing younger people how to aswell. When I was younger there were older skaters that taught me so much and I still run into them all the time as we reminis of how those were the best times we had and I want them back and want to create more memories for myself and others.
