Objections to the 'Gay Britannia' promotion by the BBC
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
We draw the attention of Tony Hall, Director General of the BBC, to our concerns regarding the 'Gay Britannia', promotion, shown just before the BBC24 Hour News, on Friday 14th July at 10 p.m.
Statistically, the homosexual population of this country is less than 2%, which means that 98% of the male population is heterosexual.
For the BBC to imply that the overwhelming majority of the male population is gay, is simply not true. In addition, it is not within their remit the BBC to suggest that it is.
This promotion is a gross misuse of licence payers fees.
Furthermore, the BBC Charter requires that the BBC should be impartial. This promotion is biased, and beyond impartiality. It should be withdrawn immediately, and an apology issued to the majority heterosexual male population.
