Due to Covid-19, the DMV and driving schools have shut down. This means teenagers turning 16 cannot get their licenses on or close to their birthday, they will have to wait months to be eligible to take the drivers test. Then they will have to wait even longer to book their test due to the DMV being backed up. If the teenager has driven over 30 hours with their permit and their parent/guardian feels that they have gained enough experience to drive on their own, they should be able to get their license on time.
