Dear sir/Madam
It is far too difficult to find the country of origin on packaging. Chinese food is packed in New Zealand. This is unacceptable that made from imported and local products could just mean the box it is packaged in.

Totally agree we need new transperancy
laws to show exactly where things come from and are packaged.

Sick and tired of the great con-job we are being subjected to by food producers. Totally disgusted by the fact that we have thrown away our "food security" by importing food from overseas that could be easily be grown and processed here, giving us better quality, and providing much needed employment. It should be mandatory for labelling to show what ingredients come from where on every package, and major producers should be forced, by legislation, to use locally produced produce as a first source of product content.

We should be promoting Australian produce and doing more for our local producers

It needs too be clear where the food is produced and the ingredients sourced! for the safety of our people, and to give us a choice

I really do not understand why we are importing food that is available from Australian producers ... while they are trashing their crops because of imports from countries that do not pay due diligence to the same health and safety standards we require of our own. It is a total disgrace.

Lets protect the rest of Australia from cases such as these by stopping it in its tracks.

I believe that the labelling needs to be clearer so consumers know where produce or ingredients are produced. Some manufacturers use imported raw ingredients, but manage to get past labelling specific ingredients as imported. Our smaller food producers are being bypassed and their businesses are going under!
