The Toms River Regional School District has been without a permanent superintendent since January 1, 2021. One compromised superintendent search, an ethics investigation started and stopped, some Toms River Board of Education members playing politics with our children, two interim superintendents and a self-serving, deceitful town councilman, later; when is the community going to stand up for our children and say ENOUGH is ENOUGH? The public demanded a homegrown, superintendent and yet here we are on our second interim. The TRBOE is considering hiring an outside firm to help with the superintendent search. ABSOLUTELY NOT! Mr. James Ricotta, Assistant Superintendent, has been employed by our school district since 1992. In 29 years, he has held several positions; Teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal and since 2018, Assistant Superintendent. He is more qualified than most. We need a child advocate. We need someone knowledgeable about S2. We need someone with experience that knows our district. We need STABILITY, CONSISTENCY and TRANSPARENCY.  Who do you think has been running the District since January 1, 2021? Exactly. Let's not hire from the outside, let's PROMOTE from WITHIN. To the sitting members of the Toms River Board of Education, stop dragging your feet until the election.
