Making Rt. 96 safer for pedestrians: Extending TCAT Bus Route 14 to Dubois Road
We the undersigned residents of Rt. 96 Trumansburg Rd, between the Cayuga Medical Center and Woolf Lane, sign in support of extending TCAT Bus Route 14 from the Overlook up to Dubois Road, with a stop at Dubois Road, before turning right onto Dubois Road to ultimately go back through the hospital. Given the volume of traffic, the excessive speeding, the lack of pedestrian facilities, and the recent accident history that includes a 14-year-old pedestrian tragically killed on her way from Indian Creek Farm (ICF) back to The Overlook housing development, we believe that extending the TCAT Bus Route 14 up to Dubois Road would be more in keeping with the residential character of the neighborhood. In particular, it would ensure safe transportation between ICF and The Overlook for those who do not have access to a car. As ICF has now become a destination center for the neighborhood, ensuring safe access for various means of transportation---walking, bike, or car---is of key importance to the residents of this neighborhood.
